Secretary

Wendy Jones serves as Secretary of the Virginia D.A.R.E. Association and is a Deputy with the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, where she started her career in 2005. She has been assigned as a School Resource Officer (SRO) for 13 years of her career, and defines this as her most rewarding assignment. Through her assignment as an SRO, she mentors, educates, and encourages students to make meaningful and positive choices. She serves in many additional roles in her school community, among which are her initiatives to start and maintain a pantry with her school CARE Team, ongoing leadership and work for the BGES Community Garden, and networking with local agencies and community members to offer opportunities to students and families.

Wendy believes positive interactions with law enforcement provide a foundation to change perspectives, encourage communication, and enhance safety through trust and approachability. Through her years of service, she has cherished the opportunities she has been given to serve her community, school, and the citizens of Caroline.

Embarking on her second term as VDA Secretary, she is excited to collaborate with her fellow board members to improve and evolve the role of the Virginia DARE Association.
